Christopher Niezrecki received the dual B.S. degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering from the University of Connecticut, Mansfield, CT, USA, in 1991, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA, in 1992 and 1999, respectively.

He is currently a Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Lowell, MA, USA, where he is also a Co-Director of the Structural Dynamics and Acoustics Systems Laboratory (SDASL).

He has been directly involved in mechanical design, smart structures, noise and vibration control, wind turbine blade dynamics and inspection, structural dynamic and acoustic systems, structural health monitoring, and noncontacting inspection research for over 30 years with more than 190 publications.

Dr. Niezrecki is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), the Society for Experimental Mechanics (SEM), and the Society of Photographic Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).

He was a recipient of numerous grants.

He was elected as member of the Euorpean Academy of Engineering in 2021.
